No. 05 - Fishers of Men
I joined a group of men out to McArdle’s Resort in Bena, Minnesota the heart of the Northwoods for another year of great fishing on Lake Winnibigoshish.
Pleased with my newfound hobby of fishing with a Monty crew. That was a total of 8 fishermen going out to sea (lake) and cast for a total of 7 days. On the hunt for walleye, northern pike, muskie, jumbo perch, crappie, largemouth bass, and bluegill - all of which thrive in Winnie's waters.

Take in and enjoy a spiritual and learning experience. In other family group settings, conversation with these individuals would be surfaces level. “Hi. Nice to see you. How’s the family...” Small talk. At McArdle’s sleeping under one cabin roof and together for 6 plus hours, rest my guard and let out a fart.
McArdles Resort was a wonderful reset from my perspective. I enjoy the feeling of rediscovering, slowing down and coming back from my trip.
Little Ripples Makes a Big Wave
Follow through, after any good experience, no matter the outcome, working through the struggles and completing the task leads to a better experience. As a teen, keeping your word was never top of mind. I was a flake, made up stories, excuses why I was late, didn't make the event, or would ghost and blame someone else. The act of following through has been an important value I had to learn. Time, and respecting people's time is a close second.
I’ve learned more about this lesson while the time spent with Ben Jaremus.
When confronted with a conflict, you have two choices. You achieve nothing by quitting, or you roll up your pant legs and get to work. For example, getting in swampy fish water, carelessly and without a second thought, to dive and pick up your fishing mate's cleaning knife.
